《大学英语》教学大纲
为规范西南政法大学大学英语教学管理，提高大学英语教学质量，明确大学英语教学要求和目标，根据教育部《大学英语课程教学要求》和西南政法大学大学英语教学的实际情况，特制定《西南政法大学大学英语教学大纲》，用于指导我校本科大学英语教学。
一、课程性质
大学英语是西南政法大学一门必修的基础课程，是大学教育的一个重要组成部分。大学英语实行分级教学，学生必须按要求修满规定的学分方能获得相应的学位。
二、教学目标和要求
大学英语的教学目标是培养学生的英语综合应用能力，打好阅读基础，加强听说，使他们能用英语交流信息，在听、说、读、写、译方面达到教育部《大学英语课程指导》（待定）所提出的较高要求。帮助学生掌握良好的学习方法，打下扎实的语言基础，提高文化素养，以适应社会发展和经济建设的需要。具体内容如下：
1．听力理解能力：能听懂英语讲课，并能听懂一般性内容的英语讲座。对题材熟悉、句子结构比较简单、基本上没有生词，语速为每分钟130-140词的简短会话、谈话和讲座，能正确理解中心大意，抓住要点和有关细节，了解讲话者的观点和态度。
2．口语表达能力：能就精读教材内容和适当的听力材料进行问答和复述，能进行日常英语会话，能就熟悉的话题稍做准备后作简短发言。表达意思清楚，语音、语调基本正确。
3．阅读理解能力：能阅读并正确理解语言难度中等的一般题材的文章，掌握中心大意，了解说明中心大意的事实和细节，能根据所读材料进行一定的分析、推理和判断，了解作者的观点和态度，阅读速度达到每分钟70词。在阅读篇幅较长、难度略低、生词不超过总词数3%的材料时，能正确理解中心大意，抓住主 1

三、课程设置与教学安排
根据教育部《大学英语课程教学要求（试行）》的指导意见并结合我校的具体情况，在新生入学时举行了英语水平测试并根据测试结果将学生分为两个层次施教，即一般要求层次和较高要求层次。以确保不同层次的学生在英语应用能力方面得到充分的训练和提高。
大学英语课程分为“大学英语基础阶段课程”和“大学英语提高阶段课程”两部分，总学分为16学分。基础阶段课程名称为“大学英语1”、“大学英语2”、“大学英语3”和“大学英语4”。大学英语课程安排在第一和第二学年，共四学期，每学期周学时为4，每学期为四个学分。大学英语基础阶段每学期均进行期末学业考试，考试通过记4学分，考试不合格者不获学分，且应重修。提高阶段课程包括语言应用类（应用文写作、商务英语、文秘英语、学术交流英语等）、语言文化类（英美社会与文化、报刊阅读、英美小说、影视欣赏、演讲、视听、口译等）、专业英语类（法律英语、经贸英语、财经英语、专业文献翻译、论文写作等）。
西南政法大学学生必须按规定修完大学英语基础阶段全部课程，并经考试合格，方能获得相应的学分和学位。对经入学分级考试提前进入高一级课程学习的学生，待本级期末考试及格同时获得本级课程学分和相应学分。
四、考核
考核分笔试与口试。期末考试以笔试和口试相结合。在考核学生英语知识的同时，着重考核学生英语的应用能力。
期末考试内容要与所学课程相关，主观题的比例不低于30%。期末考试成绩占学生总评成绩70%，平时成绩（测验，作业，出勤等）和口语成绩占30%。学生总评成绩不及格，按学校有关规定对所学课程重修，外国语学院要为重修的学生创造条件。
