如何提高英文写作
英语写作是语言应用的一个重要方面，也是语言能力测定的重要手段，衡量写作水平的标准便是看其是否能用学过的语言材料，语法知识等用文字的形式来表达描述。
书面语言表达一般分为三个过程：思维、组织、表达。先是思维，把要写的东西在脑中思考，这往往是个别的，孤立的一些素材，很凌乱琐碎；因此要对此进行组织，把这些思维作出整理，使其条理、系统化，但这还是较粗糙的，可能还有一些用词不当或语言错误；最后才是表达，把组织过的材料仔细推敲，确无问题了再落笔成文。在撰写时要注意主谓语一致，时态呼应，用词贴切等，这就是写作。上述的三个过程，最难的就是第三个过程，这需要我们有较好的语法知识，掌握一定数量的句型，习惯用语，熟练的写作技巧，这样才能写出通顺生动的文章来。其实，“写”和“说”一样，是主动行为。题目虽然是老师出的，但写什么，怎样写，主动权完全掌握在考生手里。在有准备的基础上，考生完全可以专挑自己熟悉的句型，自己熟悉的词汇来写作文。应试作文，只要具有一定英语基础，再稍加训练，就有可能在比较短的时间内，得到大幅度的提高，这方面的成功事例是很多的。比如说，有一位青年教师，准备参加出国英语考试，考试前一个月，把他的两篇作文交给英语教师批改，作文中各种错误成堆，最多只能打4、5分。英语教师给他逐一改正了错误，还给他讲了一些注意事项。过一星期，青年教师再拿来两篇短文，这一回，作文中的语法错误已经少了一些，英语教师又给他讲了一些应试作文的窍门。以后又连续批改了两次，前后总共批改了8篇短文。接着那位青年教师参加英语出国考试，作文部分得了12分。从这个例子可以看出，由于平时练得太少，所以考生对英文应试作文显得生疏。但是，只要有人稍加指点，认真练习几次，就会立竿见影，成绩会迅速大幅度提高。
另外，写英语作文最忌讳的是先想好一个中文句子，然后把它硬译成英文。这样做的结果是一堆用英文字母写的中文，完全不符合英语的习惯。写英语作文最好的办法是自己掌握一些常用的英语动词的用法，有一些常用的句套子。对于写作文来说，掌握几百个常用动词的用法，再有100个常用句套子，就足以应付
各种日常写作及应试作文的需求了。
事实上，不光是我们中国学生，即使是美国人，除了作家之外，他们在写作时使用的词汇也是不多的。前不久，美国总统布什在联合国大会发表一个演讲，全文9页，2651个词。用计算机统计后发现，所使用的词汇共有783个，其中人名、地名等有29个。如果去掉人名、地名，所使用的词汇只有754个，其中643个（占85%）属于我国大学英语4级考试大纲范围之内，也就是在常用的4200词之内。美国总统在联合国大会的演讲稿，必定有写作水平很高的撰稿人代为撰稿，所用词汇尚且如此有限，一般平头百姓日常书信或作文，有2000～3000词，就足以应付各种写作需求了。
还有一个事实可以说明这个问题。大家知道，有一本英语词典叫“Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English”，这部词典全部词汇释义和举例所使用的词汇只有2000个，就附在该词典的后面。既然用2000个词可以解释所有其他几万个词条，如果我们能够熟练运用它们，也就能够表达我们想表达的各种思想。记住一条：对于写和说，“兵不在多而在于精”。
总之，要提高英语写作水平，需要两方面的训练：一是语言基础方面的训练，要有扎实的造句、翻译等基本功，即用词法、句法等知识造出正确无误的句子；二是写作知识和能力方面的训练以掌握写作方面的基本方法和技巧。那么，究竟怎样才能写好作文呢？
阅读优秀范文
首先要搞好阅读。阅读是写作的基础，在阅读方面下的功夫越深，驾驭语言的能力也就越强。所以要写好英语先要读好英语，在语言学习方面狠下苦功，教科书要读透，因为教科书中的文章都是一些很好的范文，文笔流畅，语言规范，精彩的一些课文段落要背诵。再就是要进行大量课外阅读，并记住一些好文章的篇章结构。
加强练词造句训练
其次，要加强练词造句的训练。词句对作文相当于造房的材料，无好材料就造不出好房子。平时在学习阅读时要注意收集积累，把好的词语、短语、句型做好笔记。平时在练习中的错误也要做好记录，再对照正确句子，使地道的英语句子如同条件反射，落笔就对。
了解英语写作格式还有，要了解英语写作的不同体裁与格式。可以先看一本介绍英语写作入门的书，对英语写作有一个初步的概念，如怎么写议论文，如何提出论据，如何展开，如何确定中心句；又如，英语信的格式，如何根据不同身份写不同结束语等，然后根据不同的体裁进行写作练习。
用英语写日记
要养成记英语日记勤练笔的好习惯。经常用英语记日记，等于天天在练笔，这无疑是提高英语协作的行之有效的好办法。在记日记时，不要总是用简单句，要有意识地用一些好的词组、句型、关联词和复合句等，使文句更优美生动。还有要按照题目或所给情景写文章练笔。写好后对照范文，找出差距，然后再练习，这对提高英语作文也很有帮助，在游泳中学会游泳，只有多练习才能练好。总之，平时学习语言素材积累多了，体裁格式记住了又经常练习不断提高，到作文下笔时就会得心应手，水到渠成。
第二篇：手机短信能提高英文写作
“短信一族”几乎就是学英语的一代，因此，只要对方学过英语，我们就可以用英文发手机短信。这样，我们便把英文写作的频率提升到前所未有的高度。假设你一个月发300条短信，有250条是英文的(剩下50条发给父母长辈等不会英文者)，你的英文写作能力会得到怎样的提升？闻得有位兄台在回家的列车上给朋友发短信解闷就发了200余条，请问他要是全部用英文发，他的英文写作能力会得到怎样的提升？
首先要明确你手机的英文输入法。现在手机上的英文输入法大体有两种。一种是逐个字母输入的原始方法，每个字母需要摁若干次数字键，例如输入字母“i”要摁“4”键3次，依次显示“g”、“h”、“i”。如果需要连续输入同一数字键所代表的几个字母，则每次还得等一秒钟让手机确认，例如输入“moon”就够你烦的了。第二种是智能输入法，也是大多数手机具备的英文输入法，它以单词为单位，只需要按顺序摁各个字母所在的数字键，手机自动把各种可能组成单词的字母组合让你遴选，同样是“moon”只要连续摁4次“6”键(不用间歇)，屏幕出来“noon”，再摁一下遴选键，“moon”就出来了。
正是手机的智能输入法能使你的单词拼写得到质的提升！在智能输入法状态下，你几乎不会拼错单词，因为：如果你摁入的字母序列与手机内置词库的正确单词拼写顺序不一致的话，手机会给你提示，或者根本就没有合适的单词供你选择。因此，我们必须掌握正确的拼写，相应地，需要随时随地查词典——电子词典就是最好的搭档。我就是被智能输入法“强迫”练熟了不少容易混淆的拼写。例如 “大使”和“大使馆”读音、意义类似，我曾经想当然以为拼写就是最后几个字母后缀有点差别，某次我要表达“大使馆”时摁入“ambassy”，手机提示不能识别，查电子词典才发现“大使”是“ambassador”，“大使馆”却是“embassy”！请你拿出手机试一遍，就能感受到“电子老师”是多么的严格要求了(电脑软件例如Word有智能改错，但手机上好像还没有)。在“手机＋电子词典”的反复写作训练下，我慢慢练熟了诸如“temperature”、“restaurant”、“guarantee”、“fortunate”、“pronunciation”、“cockcroach”等从前经常出错的拼写。
建议仅在单词拼写不明确的情况下查电子词典，而不要滥用电子词典的汉英词典功能瞎找一个单词来表达你的意思，以免写成“中国式英语”。良好的写作表达只能来源于我们接触到的原著，也就是说，洋人用过的说法我们才能用，不懂的表达千万别自己编造。某个意思可能有多种表达，我们要是不会最佳表达，不妨用罗嗦一点但熟悉而正确的表达，反正语言是灵活的，总可以让收信人明白的。当然，我们须在原著中多多汲取地道准确的表达，日后的短信就写得越来越动人了。
英文短信还有个好处：言简意赅。这也是被迫练出来的，因为每条短信字数有限制，超出了就得多扣电话费。在经济上受到约束，比作文课上老师强调100遍“简洁”还管用。通过发英文短信，你会逐渐懂得到怎样在短短一百几十个字符中表达最多的内容，例如本来要写两句话，如果把第二句改成从句能省几个格，改成分词修饰谓语动词省得更多„„长此以往，你的英文行文就会越来越简明扼要，表达技巧也越来越一针见血。这，已经不再是单词拼写的基础层次，而是相当高级的写作技术了。
