I’m from Tianjin Nankai High School.As the top school in Tianjin even in China, Nankai has cultivated a great number of distinguished alumni, including beloved Premier Zhou Enlai and Wen Jiabao.Its motto “Be upright and capable people, and progress with each passing day”, which is the reason why I chose Nankai as my high school, is similar to HKU’s motto “Sapientia Et Virtus”, which is also the main reason makes me want to continue my further study in HKU.Among the many remarkable faculties, the Medical Faculty holds the greatest appeal to me.My mother, who is a doctor, is the person who influences me deeply.When I was little, I often sat in the hallway outside the consulting room to wait for her.I often saw the terrible looks on the patients’ faces, and I could really feel their releases after several treatments and see the smiles from the bottom of their hearts.I can’t help dreaming to be a person like my mother.I understand that “nothing in life is easy if it’s worth having” and I always work hard to make my dream come true.As the president of the Charity Union in my school, I have launched many campaigns such as book donation grant and spreading autism knowledge.Except for Medical Faculty, mathematics is also the major I love most.As my deepest love in number and concern about the development in the future, learning math can provide me a wide choice in the future.I may not be the best student, but I must be the most suitable student for HKU.刘丹姐，我想了想，还是想把数学那点保留下来，因为医学是真的很难进，我还是说上点数学心里比较踏实….有些小地方为了省字数我又改了改，数学那部分我又缩了缩，可是字数还是超了将近20个，它要求250字内，可是我又不知道从哪下手，麻烦你帮我再删一删吧。谢啦^^

Hello,everyone.It is a great pleasure for me to take this interview.I am a graduate from College of Light Industrial ,Hebei United University.I major in Industrial Engineering.But during the past four years,I didn't spend most of the time on my speciality.Generally speaking,during the first two years,I was quite at a loss and achieved nothing that an excellent student should achieve.Because I wasn't fond of what the teacher taught in class,and most importantly,I have no knowledge of what a university is and what a person I should be when I graduate.Then came the third year, at that time,I was a little bit wiser than before.I mean that I began to know what quality we should shape ourselves in the college.Because I knew a celebrity through the Internet.Thanks to the seven letters,I began to read books about management,of course,including English.Because they are both my interests.When the fourth year came,I began to think about my job after graduation.Eventually I choose to engage in the course of English.And that is the reason why I come here today.Frankly speaking,my oral English is poor.Just for this short interview,I practice it many times.No matter what result of this interview will be.Whether I will be wiped out or selected out.I will always persue my dream that one day I will be an excellent English teacher or a translator through my struggles.Thank you very much.

自由的学术环境，悠久的历史，开放的国际化都市是港大留给我的最深刻的印象，而我之所以选择香港大学作为我的梦想也正是因为这些原因.不仅因为港大是香港最受尊重的学府，还因为它崇尚自由的并与内地不同的学习方式深深的吸引了我。

对于专业的选择，我认为兴趣是最重要的。尽管某些专业可能会更热门，但我坚持我的选择。我个人对于数学学科以及其他与之相关联的学科非常感兴趣，除此之外，我还阅读了大量与数学学科相关的书籍，这在种程度上让我对于我将要学习的学科有了一个很好的把握。此外，在全国高中生数学联合竞赛中我还获得过三等奖。因此对于我的专业选择，我有着足够的信心。

在一些人的观点中，适应港大的学习生活会可能会是一个极大的困难。但对于我而言挑战看起来似乎多于困难。我不认为生活中的挑战会把我打败，相反，它使我成长，给予我勇气来面对其他困难。我曾在高中阶段被选为学生会的副主席，我肯定我的个人能力结合我在学生会的工作经验能够使我拥有一个完美的大学生活！

A free learning environment, a long history and the international locality are the most impressive impression that The University of Hong Kong has made on me.And the reason why I choose HKU as my dream is just the same.Not only is HKU the most respectable university in Hong Kong but also the free atmosphere of academia which is different from that in mainland has attracted me a lot.As for my choices of curriculum, I think the interest is the most important.Even though some other curricula can be more popular, I stick to my choice.I love mathematics as well as some other subjects which have connection with it.I have read many books related, and to some extent it gives me a good comprehension of what I’m going to learn.Besides, I have won the third prize in the national high school mathematics competition.So I have enough confidence in my choices of curricula.In somebody’s view adapting to the new life in HKU can be very difficult.But for me it looks like more challenges than difficulties.I don’t think the challenges in life can defeat me.On the contrary, it makes me mature and gives me the courage of facing any challenges.I was elected the vice-president of students’ union in my high school years, and I’m sure that my abilities combined with my practice in the students’ union should enable me to have a prefect life in HKU!
