Hello, everyone.As my hobby is watching movies and television.Today, I’d like to introduce an amazing television series-Downton Abbey, which has won many prices in its entire broadcast – including a Golden Globe Award for Best Miniseries [ˈmɪni:ˌsɪəri:z] or Television Film and a Emmy Award for Outstanding Miniseries.！-1 The series, set in the fictional Yorkshire country estate [isˈteit] of Downton Abbey, describe the lives of the Crawley family and their servants after the post-Edwardian era — with the great events in history having an effect on their lives and the British social hierarchy [ˈhaiərɑ:ki] in general.Such events described throughout the whole series include the news of the sinking of the Titanic in the first series;the outbreaks of World War I, the Spanish influenza [ˌɪnflu:ˈenzə], and the formation of the Irish Republic in the third series.！-2 Now, I want to introduce some details about this series.Royal and noble ranks: The aristocracy [,æri'stɔkrəsi] are people considered to be in the highest social class in a society which has or once had a political system of aristocracy [,æri'stɔkrəsi].And the others are merchants [ˈmə:tʃənt] / craftsmen/ peasants/ freemen.And the Crawley family is of course belonging to the nobles.!-4 What impress me most is the characters in the play.Dowager Countess of Grantham, do you remember this old lady? Professor McGonagall in Harry Potter!In this television series, she seems to nail her roles every time, and her acting in Downton is no exception."The mother of Robert, Earl of Grantham, Violet is proud, loyal to her son.This man is Robert, Earl of Grantham.And this is his wife, Cora, Countess of Grantham.I really like McGovern as Cora---she is beautiful and graceful, but also brave and levelheaded.The Countess of Grantham is a lone American among the British, which I love!Her costumes are downright gorgeous.-5 Lady Mary Crawley, The Oldest Daughter Michelle Dockery米歇尔多克里plays the eldest and coldest daughter of Cora and Robert....her parent's desire for her to marry Matthew in order to keep Downton in the Crawley family is just one focal point in Downton Abbey.-7 And this is Lady Edith Crawley, The Second Daughter Lady Sybil Crawley, The Youngest Daughter Sybil is probably my favorite of the Crawley daughters, she is the only daughter who seems to be even slightly interested in something other than herself.Her befriending of the maid Gwen makes me smile!:)She is the most visionary [ˈvɪʒəˌneri:] and forward-thinking of the three daughters.-8 Matthew Crawley He is a third cousin, once removed, of Lord Grantham.I think he’s so handsome and with a good personality.He and Lady Mary don’t like each other at the first time, just like Pride and Prejudice , but they are really a perfect couple in this story.-9 Anna, Head Housemaid Anna is a very kind character who is always there to lend a helping hand to her friends.She seems content with her life, but is in love with a fellow member of the Downton staff, who will not let himself become involved in a relationship John Bates, Lord Grantham's manservant.As the time is limited, I only introduce some of the Actors.-10

And then I find some more details about the TV series.The aristocracy [,æri'stɔkrəsi]’s favourite social activities are dinner party and hunting.The aim to held the party is not just eating and drinking, but to improve social relationship.And then I’d like to introduce some Victorian style costumes, which are from 1837 to 1901, during the reign of Queen.The era [ˈiərə] of women’s clothing is characterized [ˈkæriktəraiz] by extensive use of the lace, spinning, ribbons, bows, multi-layered cake cutting, wrinkle, and other elements, and the collar, princess sleeves, leg of mutton sleeves and other court style.In the conservative Victorian era, the need for pure culture, women must put their tightly wrapped.tail coat [teil kəut] Over the years tail coats of varying types have evolved into forms of formal dress for both day and evening wear.That’s my introduce about Downton Abbey.Thank you.

《唐顿庄园》观后感

《唐顿庄园》这部英剧的背景设定在1910年代英王乔治五世在位时约克郡一个虚构的庄园——“唐顿庄园”，故事开始于Grantham伯爵一家由家产继承问题而引发的种种纠葛，呈现了英国上层贵族与其仆人们在森严的等级制度下的人间百态。

一战前后是一段对于英国传统贵族来讲“礼崩乐坏”的年代，人权的发展，资本主义的崛起，战争的冲击，都在摧毁着传统的固有秩序。这部电视剧有趣的地方就在于，它几乎没有设定多少真正意义上的坏人，每个人物基本上就是在按照自己的阶级属性在行事。而所有的冲突，都是他们每个人所秉承的理念与现实中的冲突。

故事的开始就是泰坦尼克号的灾难，让唐顿庄园失去了继承人。而他们的远房亲戚，一位曼彻斯特的年轻律师，将继承他们的一切，包括伯爵夫人的个人巨额财产。随着新的继承人的到来，整个庄园都发生着新的故事。

说起创新，这部剧似乎毫无优势：常见的选材，似曾相识的大家族矛盾，继承权，爱情，等级观念，人心善恶，时代更迭，哪个关键词不是其他剧里面也能包括的。但是这部《唐顿庄园》最大的魅力却是其他任何国家的电视剧集无法复制的，那就是它那老牌资本主义国家的那种历史的底蕴和翩翩贵族气质，英国出贵族，出绅士，这是全世界都知道的事，但是这部电视剧则用当今最通俗的传播方式，给大家讲贵族到底是什么。这在现在中国这样一个充斥着暴发户的国家里，无疑是可以教育大多数人，因为很多人都觉得自己有了钱就是贵族了，甚至这里的媒体也成天把贵族这两个字挂在嘴边，广告成天打出的标语也是贵族的标签，但是这部戏却可以让很多人汗颜，因为真正的贵族不仅仅是有大房子，银行里的存款数字或者多少仆人鞍前马后，真正的贵族还必须是一种精神，一种生活细节和教养，相比之下，我们不得不承认，现在的中国，只有有钱人，而没有什么贵族。举个例子言说一下这种精神，据说当革命者把法王路易十六和王后推上断头台的时候，王后一不小心踩了刽子手的脚，马上客气地说了一句：对不起，先生。这件事发生在平时，叫礼貌，发生在断头台上，就叫品格。

看过这部剧的观众们只要回想一下剧情，一些镜头就一定会历历在目：Grantham伯爵目送战友上了汽车，犹豫再三却还是追上前去挽留；争强好胜保守古朴的祖母把奖项颁给了园丁老人，因为她认识到“这样会让大家都更开心”；三女儿帮助小女仆寻找秘书的职位，她们屡败屡战，终于实现愿望；帮忙的厨师知道汤里被“加了料”，没有责备帮厨小姑娘反而安慰她“忠心是好事”„„

我们可以从这部剧中看到英国人所试图树立的榜样，和向世界输出的价值观。它至少是让人们能够觉得温暖，舒服，接受并且内心踏实的一种价值观。可以塑造出有这么一座豪宅还不让人憎恶的一家子。再回头看看我们的媒体，影视题材竭尽所能塑造的所谓“贵族”形象，所谓成功精英的社会榜样，住什么样的豪宅，开什么样的跑车，泡什么样的妞。我们只能说，大家对贵族两个字的理解和追求可真是大大的不一样

面对着浮躁冷漠的、物欲横流的、犬儒盛行的„„总之是各种这类字眼反复招呼的当今社会，中国人也不可避免地陷入了集体怀旧，是否有什么是我们应当拾回的，有什么是我们缺少的？
