大学英语六级最后冲刺之修炼写作高分

英语写作是一个遣词造句,连句成篇,将不同信息组合排列的过程,也是体现英语运用能力的一个重要方面,因此是各类英语考试的必考题型之一。但从历年六级考试情况来看,写作作为主观题型,一直是考生的薄弱环节。
很多考生在写作过程中,出于有限的词汇水平和语言表达能力,得到的只是些杂乱无序的字、词、句,无法将其连接成一篇结构完整、逻辑性强又符合英文阅读习惯的文章。
一、词汇问题
在六级作文中,词汇量不足是影响成绩的一个重要因。很多考生由于基本词汇量极为有限,很难表达清楚自己的观点;而有部分考生,有一定的词汇量,却依然无法过写作“词汇关”,主要有以下几大问题:
1.拼写错误
正确的词形是表达语言的基础,在书面表达中,“拼写”是语言准确性的首要体现。英语是拼音文字,是由若干字母按一定的顺序排列而成的,多一个字母或少一个字母甚或是把字母顺序写颠倒了就会出错或写成别的单词。在四六级作文中,很多考生会将以下单词拼错:如把though写成through;把mental写成metal;把colleague写成 college;把explanation误拼成 explaination等。词汇拼写取决于考生平时单词基本功是否过关,别无捷径,唯有认真背单词。
2.用词不当
用词不当可以说是写作中出现的主要问题。许多考生平时机械地背词汇手册,掌握了一定的词汇量,但不知该在什么语境中使用。这些考生虽然对题目及要求非常清楚,却无法用一些恰当的词来表达自己的思想。
下面举几个例子:

例三:In the past,the price of meat was so expensive that most families could not afford it.(应改为In the past,the price of meat was so high that most families could not afford it.)
很多考生在写作时,由于时间关系,抑或是平时习惯使然,用词方面往往随心所欲,想到就用,所以作文中用词不当的错误比比皆是。因此考生在背单词的时候,应对其基本词组,同形词、同义词辨析等都有一个准确的把握。
3.词组搭配错误
词语的搭配是英语学习中的一项重要内容,要正确地认识和使用词语,就必须在词语与词语的联合上多下功夫。然而,有些考生平时不注意积累,或对一些约定俗成的词语记忆不牢,使用时模棱两可,从而影响了作文的质量。
依然通过举例来说明问题:
例一:The price should be lowered in order to meet the students„ acquires.(meet the students‟ acquires应为meet the students„ requirements.)
例二:Therefore,we shall attach great importance about this question.(attach great importance about 应为 attach great importance to)
二、基本语法问题
通过对很多考生的试卷分析,发现在写作方面,基本语法层面的问题依然层出不穷。例如:无法保持时态在全文的一致,这一现象很普遍,往往是紧接的两句,在没有任何时间状语的情况之下,就出现了时态的不一致;还有现在进行时不加ing;一般现在时第三人称单数问题;情态动词之后,动词反而不用原形等等。
很多考生缺乏基本的语法意识,作文中常犯的语法错误除了时态错误,还包括冠词错误、名词和动词单复数错误、代词不一致错误、词性错误以及句子主谓不完整错误。由于篇幅关系,这里不再赘述。
三、缺乏逻辑性
很多考生在英语写作的过程中,暴露出中文写作能力的不足,比如逻辑性、论证能力、描述能力等;例如:作文题为“A Campaign Speech”,为竞选学生会主席而进行演讲。有一位考生通篇都在传达这样的信息:如果我能当选学生会主席,就能提高我的组织能力、思维能力、沟通能力等等。这显然体现了考生缺乏逻辑性,设想你是一名学生,会选一个只想着利用这个机会来提高自己的人作学生会主席吗?
四、中式思维
中国学生学习英语摆脱不了汉语思维,通常套用汉语的结构及句式,往往是先拟好中文草稿,然后再译成英文。结果文章中出现许多Chinglish,例如:写到“食堂的菜单字太小,看不清”,很多同学会用这样的表达:The work of the menu is too small to see it clearly.这显然是囿于中式思维的框框,准确而地道的说法应为The print on the menu is too small to read.祝大家六级考试顺利通关!

开端长短句相结合,画龙点睛
考生都知道六级作文的得分点其中之一便是复杂句,好的作文中无疑会有很多优秀的复杂句,但是整篇作文全部都是复杂句构成的话,也会给人晦涩穿凿的感觉,然而,在文章的开头写一个短小精辟的句子却可以起到画龙点睛的作用。而且如果我们把短句放在段首或者段末,也可以揭示主题。考生在文章开端时可以选择用一个长句一个短句,长句在前短句在后的形式,如果要对观点进行阐述的话,可以就每一个小点采用先短后长的句式,这样显得短小精悍并具有总结性。
主题句放在开头,清晰点题
作文老师在阅卷时时间紧迫,一般都会喜欢尽快找到文章的主题,所以考生在写作时可以在第一段开头就写明主题句,后面的文章就紧紧围绕这一主题展开,这样不仅可以让老师一目了然,也可以使自己的文章主题明确,条理清晰,如果把主题句放到文章中间,那么阅卷老师稍一仓促可能就找不到这样就会认定考生的作文偏题或跑题了,再想得高分就不容易了。
句式多变,灵活运用复合句和连接词
英语作文要想给人一种很精深有水平的感觉那就必然少不了运用复合句。所谓复合句就是那些主句里面套从句,句式较长的语句,考生高中时就学过定语从句、宾语从句、主从复合句等等基本的语法知识,在作文中可以加以运用。除此之外,英语作文的写作中,构成复杂句还有一个很重要的方式就是连接词的运用,在写作中通常会用到的就是转折、因果和并列关系的连接词,考生在复习时可以总结一下这些连接词,作文中用来写出漂亮的长句式。以上关于六级作文的写作经验看起来很简单,但是真正坚持做到却不那么容易,考试之前的时间不多了,考生要注意有效率地运用这段时间,加紧对作文进行复习。

英语六级阅卷老师在语言方面主要从两个方面进行评判:
1、基本正确
英语六级考生的最大问题不是写得太简单,而是严重错误太多。基础一般的同学即使使用小学或中学词汇和句型,只要使用得基本正确,也可以得到及格分数。考生最常犯的语言错误有三类:语法、拼写、标点。最常犯的语法错误包括:时态、冠词、主谓一致、名词单复数等。
2、丰富多变
基础较好的同学,要想取得 英语六级写作高分,应做到丰富多变。丰富多变体现在词汇和句型两方面。同一词语在一句话、一个段落乃至一篇文章中最好不要重复出现,应尽量使用同、近义词替换(无法替换的关键词除外)。例如:think可以替换为reckon, assume, argue等词。如果想不到同、近义词,可以使用上义词进行替换。此外,句型也应富于变化,不要拘泥于主谓宾句型,可以使用主系表、过去分词和现在分词短语作状语、不定式短语作状语、状语从句等多种句型。
四级作文如果量化成句数,只需写10句左右;六级只需12句左右。全文应以短句为主,长短句相结合。所谓短句是指10个词左右的句子,不能全篇都是5、6个词的短句。同时,全文应有一定数量的长句,一般15~20词即可,太长则易冗赘。有的同学以为只写长句不写短句,就能取得高分,实际上老师看长句会觉得很累,以为你不会写短句,通常不会给高分。如果一篇中文作文每句都30多个字,定然晦涩难懂,英文也不例外。精炼的短句可以放在段首表示强调; 复杂的长句可以进行具体的论证、举例或描述。
高分真经采集者退散
(一)背诵
背诵是提高英语综合能力的法宝,可分为以下5个层次:(1)精彩词汇;(2)精彩句型;(3)精彩句子;(4)万能框架;(5)经典范文。注意句子和句型不一样,精彩句子应作为单词来记忆。背诵前,确保自己已充分理解所有内容。
语言学习有两个关键词——输入(INPUT)和输出(OUTPUT)。听力和阅读属于输入,考生处于被动状态,只需在考场上将听到和看到的东西弄懂。应对这种题目的技巧很多,容易在短期内提高。但口语和写作属于输出,考生必须变被动为主动,这很难在短期内突破。没有大量的输入,很难进行自由输出。
英语六级写作需要在30分钟内完成一篇短文,共计120或150余字,很多同学叫苦不迭。但若将其改为中文作文,大家就会觉得易如反掌。原因何在?俗话说:“熟读唐诗三百首,不会做诗也能吟。”同学们从小到大背诵了大量中文佳作,可以随意组合,自由输出。然而,在英语学习中,多数同学只沉溺于背单词、抠语法、做阅读,很少有人背诵英文文章。正因为没有大量输入,写作才始终处于“挤牙膏”状态,想一句说一句,说一句翻译一句。
提高英语写作要多读、多背、多写、多改。多读、多背是首要任务,是积累输入的关键。考生应大量积累经典英文句型、表达和范文,平时勤于背诵。
有的同学问我,说自己背过很多英文文章,但上了考场还是大脑一片空白,什么都想不起来。这种情况很常见,主要有两个原因:一是没有进行造句的工作,只是盲目背诵。二是背得不够熟练。学习任何东西都讲究先求质,再求量。大家英语学了很多年,文章看了很多,为什么写作还是学不好?关键是量铺开了,但质没有上去。一篇文章应背到脱口而出的程度,如果还需要过脑子,就证明背得不够熟练。一知半解,背得再多也是徒劳。
(二)默写
背完经典范文后,进行默写。然后对照原文纠错,搞清楚错在什么地方。多数同学在写的时候都会犯小错误,如拼写、单复数、大小写等。这些就是你在写作中的弱点,也是阅卷老师最不能容忍的地方。培根说过:“Writing makes an exact man.”(写作使人精确。)只有默写下来你才会发现自己常犯哪些错误。
(三)中译英
中译英也是提高写作的好方法。根据范文的中文译文,将其按自己的理解译成英文。译完后,你就会发现自己的翻译和原文有很大差距,这些差距就是取得写作高分的关键。这时,对照范文,看看原作者是怎么写的,思考为什么这么写。同样的一句中文,范文中使用了哪些词汇和句型?你使用了哪些词汇和句型?学习范文使用不同的词汇和句型。通过不断练习,你的写作水平不知不觉就提高了。
(四)写作
模仿范文写作新的文章,套用范文的精彩词汇、句型、句子和框架。最初套用时可能比较生硬,但随着不断的积累,组合起来会越来越顺手。
