外交部信息显示，总书记将于9月22日至25日对美国进行国事访问，并紧接着于9月26日至28日赴纽约联合国总部出席联合国成立70周年系列峰会。无疑，习奥会将是此行的重中之重。

他与奥巴马总统，届时将聊什么呢，目前依旧是个谜。但可以确定的是，他们将深入地讨论许多重要问题。

事件：习近平当选总书记，奥巴马表示祝贺

习近平当选中国共产党第十八届中央委员会总书记后，美国总统奥巴马致函表示祝贺并期待未来与习近平密切合作，继续建设美中合作伙伴关系，加强两国务实合作，共同面对区域与全球的经济与安全挑战，促进世界和平与繁荣。【2】

时间：2013年6月7日至8日 事件：安纳伯格庄园会晤

2013年6月7日至8日，安纳伯格庄园会晤开始前，习近平和奥巴马曾在庄园中散步，在轻松的气氛中进行交流。奥巴马将一把加利福尼亚州红衫木制作的长椅赠送给习近平。红杉树是加州名贵树种。【3】

时间：2014年3月20日至26日 事件：米歇尔·奥巴马访华

As I indicated during my recent visit to APEC and the East Asia Summit, the United States is a Pacific nation.And we are very interested and very focused on continuing to strengthen our relationships, to enhance our trade and our commerce, and make sure that we are a strong and effective partner with the Asia Pacific region.And obviously, in order to do that, it is absolutely vital that we have a strong relationship with China.最近我在访问亚太经济合作组织和出席东亚峰会期间曾表示，美国是一个太平洋国家。我们非常愿意，也非常注重继续加强我们的关系，提升我们的贸易和我们的商业活动，并确保我们是亚太地区强大和有效的合作伙伴。很显然，为了做到这一点，绝对至关重要的是我们与中国保持强大的关系。

Over the last three years I’ve had a great opportunity to develop a strong working relationship with President Hu.And we have continually tried to move forward on the basis of recognizing that a cooperative relationship based on mutual interest and mutual respect is not only in the interests of the United States and China, but is also in the interest of the region and in the interest of the United States--in the interest of the world.在过去的三年里，我有很好的机会与胡锦涛主席发展了坚实的工作关系。我们还为取得进展继续努力，认识到基于共同利益和互相尊重的合作关系不仅符合美国和中国的利益，而且符合该地区和美国的利益——符合全世界的利益。On the basis of that understanding, we have established very extensive strategic and economic dialogues between our two countries.We have been able to pursue a significant consultation on opportunities for both countries to improve their economic relationship and their strategic relationship, and also manage areas of tension in a way that is constructive.以这方面的认识为基础，我们两国之间已经建立了非常广泛的战略和经济对话。我们有可能就两国获得改善双方经济关系和战略关系的机会进行重要磋商，并以建设性的方式处理关系紧张的问题。

That includes working together in the G20 to manage the world economic crisis that had such an impact not only on both our countries, but on the entire

world.And because of U.S.-China cooperation, I think that we were able to help stabilize the situation at a very difficult time.It also includes the work that we’ve been able to do together in dealing with regional hotspot issues, like the Korean Peninsula, and issues like Iran that obviously have an impact on everybody.这包括在20国集团（G20）共同努力，设法应对世界经济危机，这场经济危机不仅对我们两国，而且对全世界都造成了如此重大的影响。由于美国与中国的合作，我认为我们才有能力在一个非常困难的时期为稳定局势作出贡献。这还包括我们能够共同努力处理地区热点问题，如朝鲜半岛以及伊朗这样显然对大家都有影响的问题。

Throughout this process I have always emphasized that we welcome China’s peaceful rise, that we believe that a strong and prosperous China is one that can help to bring stability at prosperity to the region and to the world.And we expect to be able to continue on the cooperative track that we’ve tried to establish over the last three years.在整个过程中，我始终强调我们欢迎中国的和平崛起，我们相信，一个强大、繁荣的中国有助于为地区和全球带来稳定与繁荣。我们期待能够继续沿着我们过去三年来所努力建立的合作道路前进。
