最终,参赛选手们完成的参赛作品内容充实,英语表达清晰流利,形象风度饱满,背景动画和视频制作精良,作品具有感染力,充分表现了我校学生对英语学习的积极性不断提高,情景剧比赛圆满结束,也预祝我校情景剧在市级比赛中获得佳绩!

一、情境教学的内涵和理论基础
(一)情境教学的内涵
情境,是一种生活场面。情境教学是从教学的需要出发,教师依据教材创设以形象为主体,富有感情色彩的具体场景或氛围,激发和吸引学生主动学习,达到最佳教
[2]学效果的一种教学方法。而小学英语情境教学是指教师在英语教学中运用实物、体态语、电教、表演等多种活动和手段,为学生创设一个个形象逼真的场景,营造良好的教学气氛和生动的语言环境,从而把教学内容巧妙地融入其中,让学生置身于类似现实、自然的情境中用英语进行交际,感受英语教学的真实性,继而充分调动学生学习英语的积极性。
(二)情境教学的理论基础
情境教学在国内外外语教学中正逐步得到重视和运用,并取得了良好的教学效果,它有着深厚的理论基础。
1、直观教学原理
心理学研究认为“新颖的、活动的、直观形象的刺激物,最容易引起人大脑皮层有关部位的兴奋,形成优势的兴奋灶”。情境教学最直接地体现直观教学原理,通过教师有目的地引入或创设情景,刺激学生的视觉和听觉感官,让学生感知、理解、运用所学知识,使抽象的知识具体化,减少掌握抽象概念的困难,缩短认知的时间,提高了学习效率。
2、思维相似原理
英语情境教学在其教学过程中通过创设许多活动的、贴近现实生活的场景,向学 生展示鲜明具体的形象(包括直接形象和间接形象),使学生大脑中的相似块(知识单元)增加,有助于学生从形象的感知达到抽象的理性的顿悟,有助于学生灵感的产生、相似思维能力的培养,使学习活动成为学生主动的、自觉的活动。
3、情知对称原理
从心理学角度出发,人的认知过程是智力因素与非智力因素的统一,即认知因素和情感因素的统一。小学英语情境教学通过给学生创设多个形象逼真的教学场景,营造良好的教学氛围,使学生从近乎真实、自然的情境中获得知识,并深刻体验生活情境,感受英语学习的乐趣,从而达到认知和情感二者的统一。
4、寓教于乐原理
心理学研究表明:人的情感具有两极性,它总是趋向于热爱和肯定的事物而避开厌恶和否定的事物。情境教学中创设情境就是引导学生“乐学”,通过情境调动学生健康的情感体验,唤起学生学习的愉悦,促使学生以学为乐,使学习活动成为学生主动进行的快乐的事情。
二、情境教学的现实需要和实践意义
(一)小学英语课堂中实施情境教学的现实需要
1、从小学生的心理考虑
小学3~6年级的学生处在9~12岁之间。这个年龄段的孩子具有好奇、好活动、爱表现、善模仿等特点。他们对陌生的英语具有好奇心,很少有羞怯感,喜欢引起别人的注意,听觉敏捷,模仿力和记忆力强,形象思维好。[7]在小学英语课堂中运用不同方式创设丰富、有趣、生动形象的教学情境,让学生在模拟情境的过程中感受文化并获取知识。这样,既充分发挥了小学生的心理优势,同时也激发了学生的学习兴趣,大大地提高了学生的学习积极性。
2.从新课标的要求考虑
英语课程改革的重点是要改变英语课程过分重视语法和词汇知识的讲解与传授,忽视对学生实际语言运用能力的培养的倾向,强调课程从学生的学习兴趣、生活经验和认知水平出发,倡导体验、实践、参与、合作与交流的学习方式和任务型的教学途径,发展学生的综合语言运用能力,使语言学习的过程成为学生形成积极的情感态度、[9]主动思维和大胆实践,提高跨文化意识和形成自己学习能力的过程。把情境运用到小学英语教学中,就构成了充分利用形象、创设典型场景、激发学生学习情绪、把认知活动与情感活动结合起来的一种教学模式,从而更好地达到新课标知情统一的要求。
(二)小学英语课堂中运用情境教学的实践意义
1、降低教学难度,便于解决问题
在整个小学阶段,儿童思维从具体形象思维逐渐过渡到以抽象逻辑思维为主要形式,但仍带有很大的具体性。小学英语情境教学通过再现教材内容的相关情境,利用鲜明、具体的角色效应,鼓励学生自己去琢磨、提议案,并尝试去发现知识,寻求解决问题的方法,从而拓宽了教学空间,增强了实践感悟,便于学生对教材理解得更透彻,更全面。如教师让学生四人小组合作扮演课文对话,再让学生联系生活情境,在原对话的基础上稍作修改,使之成为一个新的日常生活对话。这样,在活动过程中既使学生亲身体验角色,又使学生有尝试创造的机会。
2、激发学生兴趣,提高学习能力
创设形式多样、活泼有趣的课堂教学情境,有利于激发学生的学习兴趣,并提高其学习能力。如教六年级学生“What do you have for dinner today? I have„„.”这对句型时,教师巧设去超市买菜准备晚餐的生活情境,把刚学过的几个事物单词作为超市的食物列单。然后让学生四人小组合作,在超市里选好自己喜欢的食物并共同“煮”出一道菜,用上“I have__,__.”的句型说出这道菜式的原材料。最后还要从各小组中竞选出“healthy meals”、“best dishes”、“new dishes”这三类,分别给予相应奖励。由于教师所创设的语言情境与生活情境极为相似,激发了学生浓厚的学习兴趣,并从有趣的活动中培养了学生的实践能力、观察能力和创新能力。
3、引导积极参与,改善师生关系
我们常说,教育应晓之以理,动之以情。这样就能让学生逐渐从被动接受的束缚中逃脱出来,积极地参与到教学活动中,师生共同营造出乐学、好学、民主、平等的和谐氛围。例如,在教授“Is this your„„?Yes, it is./No,it isn’t.”这组句型时,教师随意抽取了一列小组的文具,随后用新句型与学生进行一问一答,让这一小组的学生逐一认领出自己的文具。学生觉得这种方式新鲜、有趣,在这种师生共同营造的乐学、好学的互动氛围下,很快就记住新句型了。
三、情境教学在小学英语课堂教学中的应用
(一)激情引趣,带入情境
1、以歌引趣,活跃课堂氛围
在上课之前,组织学生唱英文歌曲,这是营造良好的英语课堂氛围的一个很有效的方法。歌曲具有优美的旋律,明快的节奏,活泼的形式,将唱歌这种形式运用到小学英语课堂教学中去,能使孩子们集中注意力,提高兴趣,乐于求知。
2、语言描述,激起学习兴趣
在教学导入环节中,教师可用简单易懂的话语,作绘声绘色的故事描述,引导学生进入情境。例如:叫《PEP小学英语3A》的动物单词时,教师可以一边用幻灯片打出动物园的图片,一边播放轻快的音乐。然后绘声绘色地说:“Today,we will go to a zoo.In the zoo,you can see many animals.Look!There is a monkey in the tree„„.”教师边说边附以动作或一些动物的叫声作为提示,每讲一处,让学生猜出所描述的动物。让学生完全陶醉于教师创设的故事情境当中,学生自然就会带着浓厚的兴趣去学习有趣的动物名称。语言环境的创设往往是学生英语听力水平提高的关键。
(二)形象直观,运用情境
1、实物演示情境
心理学家研究表明,向学习者展示实物,其识别时间只需0.4秒。由此可见,教学所展示的形象愈是鲜明,愈是具体,就愈能缩短感知的时间,激发学生认识的兴趣,提高教学效率。[10]根据小学生这一心理特点,教师可通过呈现实物的方式让学生快速记忆新单词,形成具体形象与抽象符号的联结。如,教师在教授《PEP小学英语4A》Recycle1中的一个新词组“curly hair”时,灵机一动,指着自己的卷发告诉学生“I have curly hair.”学生马上就能理解并记住了“curly hair”的意思。
2、动作暗示情境
教师形象逼真的动作,附上生动传神的表情,往往具有很强的暗示性。通过演示动作来描述事物,能够发挥学生的想象空间,训练其思维能力。如在复习“music、sports、science、painting”这几个单词时,教师可以演示拉小提琴、跑步、做实验等动作,学生根据这些特定情境,很快就能猜出所学单词。
3、给予及时的课堂表扬
学习英语对于小学生,特别是刚开始接触外语的三年级学生而言,无疑是一个不容易完成的学习任务。因此,教师应该关注学生的点滴进步,善于发现学生每一个哪怕是微不足道的优点,及时地进行鼓励和表扬,这样才有助于学生对英语的学习建立起自信心,去努力地学好它。如对于课堂上回答较完整的同学,及时给予他所在的小组加分,学生便会从中明白自己的进步不仅可以让自己得到表扬,还能给小组增添荣誉,为了争取获得这种奖励,学生自然而然地就会比平时更加倍努力。
