首先，当你听到“老掉牙”的问题：Tell me something about yourself.（谈谈你自己）的时候，要把主动权牢牢掌握在自己手中。不要偷懒或者耍小聪明反问回去： What do you want to know about me? 你想知道些什么呢？ 那样，会给面试官留下不好的印象，对方很有可能觉得你准备不足。
✖ 回答过于私人化
面试官让你“谈谈”自己的时候，可不是和你随便拉家常，所以回答不要太私人化哦。The interviewer doesn't want to know about your hobbies, your family, or even your favorite TV show.面试官并不想知道你的爱好、家庭或者你最喜欢的电视剧。
The biggest mistake that many job candidates make is thinking that the interviewer wants to know about them personally.很多面试者犯的最大的错误就是以为面试官想从私人角度了解你。
要知道，面试官可是阅人无数的“人精”，他们一定是想从你的自我介绍中提取出有价值的信息的，从而判断你是否适合本公司。
考核标准
➤ The interviewer is interested in understanding whether you can do the job.面试官感兴趣的是你能否胜任这份工作。➤ Whether or not you would fit into the team or culture of the organization.你能不能融入团队，适应公司文化。
➤ What you have accomplished in the past.你以前取得过哪些成就。
➤ How you can help their organization.你会怎样来帮助公司发展。
结合这些考核标准，其实也不难预估面试官会从哪些方面问接着问。
除了面试必考题“谈谈你自己”，考官很可能会结合你的简历询问相关的经历。这里又有雷区：
✖ 不能背简历
一定要简洁精炼，不要背简历，也不要事无巨细，碎碎念个没完。
Keep your statements brief.Your answer to this question should be around two to three minutes.介绍要简洁，回答控制在2-3分钟内。
还有，要把自己的经历与公司需要结合起来。毕竟知己知彼，方能百战不殆。前面的自我介绍环节铺垫好了，在自由提问环节更不能掉以轻心。下面这些话还是忍住不要说了吧：
✖ 我真的很紧张
不管你有多紧张，不能表现出来，更不能把大实话说出来。
Even if you're more nervous than you've ever been, no company wants to hire someone who lacks confidence.即使你从没这么紧张过，（也不要说这句话），没有哪家公司想雇一名缺乏自信的员工。
✖ 别把缺点说成优点
“你的弱点是什么？”这道题可不简单，回答的时候需要把握分寸，不能太直白，最好也别耍滑头。
My weakness is I care too much/work too hard 我的弱点是太在乎(这份工作)/工作起来太拼命
这种回答还是算了，谁都知道这些所谓的缺点其实是变相夸自己的优点。走点心吧亲！
You should spend time thinking about what your true weaknesses are and admit to them.你应该花点儿时间思考你真正的缺点是什么并坦承陈述。
当然了，如果面试官没有问起“你最大的弱点是什么”这一面试问题，那千万不要主动谈论此事。

无可奉告
Unless the interviewer asks you an inappropriate or illegal question, or something that makes you feel extremely uncomfortable, you should always answer their queries.除非面试官问你不合时宜或非法的问题，或是让你回答极其不舒服的问题，你都应当对问题做出回答。
面试时，不要说“无可奉告”这样的话，这会让你看起来有所隐瞒，或是你对面试毫无准备。

迫切需要得到这份工作
不要表现得歇斯底里。面试官会把你对工作的渴求视作软弱的表现。Definitely do not say that you really need this job due to your current circumstances.不要说你现在的境况真的需要这份工作。
雇主想要的是把工作当事业来做的有志者，而非仅仅需要一份工作的员工。

很喜欢贵公司的福利津贴
Don't bring up how much you love some of the company's perks, such as their policy of having every third Friday off or their free snacks.不要谈论你多么喜欢公司的某些福利津贴，如每月第3个周五不上班或提供免费点心等。
拜托，你是求职者，不是吃货好吗？公司需要看到你的事业心，太在意薪酬福利会让面试官觉得你来公司只是为了钱，而没有更深层次的原因。
This will create the image that you care more about the benefits than you do about contributing to the employer's success."
这会让人觉得你更在乎福利，而非为公司做贡献。

我没有问题要问
面试的最后，考官可能会把最后的提问机会留给你，看看你对公司的工作有什么想法。这时，千万别说你没有问题。This makes you look unprepared for the interview, or worse, disinterested in the job or company.这会显得你的准备工作做得很不充分，或更糟糕的是，你对这份工作或这个公司不感兴趣。
