要】
为了实现广告的特殊的劝说功能 ,广告商用尽各种策略 ,修辞则是其中重要策略之一。修辞作为一门劝说的艺术能帮助广告商实现其预期的目标。文章从心理语言学的角度 ,探讨多种修辞格运用的心理语言学基础。
当今社会广告无处不在 ,作为引进国外科学技术和介绍国内产品的一座桥梁 ,广告英语也愈来愈被人们关注。由于广告的劝说功能 ,使得广告英语在文体方面具有特色。为了能够成功地劝说受众 ,能激起大众的兴趣以期最终采取购买行为。广告商运用各种策略 ,而运用修辞格则是其中策略之一。修辞是一门劝说艺术 ,一种可以控制或改变他人信念乃至行为的工具、技巧或手段。各种修辞格的运用使得广告能更具说服力。心理语言学是通过研究语言和言语 ,从而进一步了解心智的本质和结构的科学。广告商运用了多种修辞格使得广告能产生较好的效果 ,本文将以此为基点 ,探讨其心理语言学基础。

隐喻隐喻研究源远流长 ,有人说 ,隐喻是一种修辞格;有人说 ,隐喻是一种范畴错置。本文将把隐喻作为一种修辞格来看待。Carroll(1999∶ 145)指出 ,隐喻的理解首先要从心理词汇(lexicon)中提取消息 ,选择适当的那部分意义 ,最后识别本体与喻体之间的关系。束定芳(2000∶ 17)指出 ,隐喻中的喻体对说话者或听话者来说要比本体更为熟悉。而在两者发生互动反应时 ,通常是更为熟悉的事物的特点和结构被影射到相对陌生的事物上 ,因而喻体可以帮助认识本体的特点和结构 ,因而也具有了认知的功能。由此可看出 ,隐喻中喻体与本体的相似性应该说是构成隐喻的基础 ,对于不能很好地直接地表达出的意义 ,运用隐喻也就更易被理解。1)High EfficiencyOur Big Bird can be fed even at night2)Kodak is Olympic color第一则为法国货运航空公司的广告标题。公司的班机被比作随时待命的巨鸟 ,而货物则是喂 “鸟” 的食物。如果用 “Our planes Pairlines ”代替 “Our BigBird”,那么标题显得平淡无特色 ,喻体 “Big Bird” 的运用能使人们产生诸如雄鹰展翅等很多的联想!使得广告更生动。第二则是柯达彩色相片的广告 ,喻体“Olympic” 首先给予受众是 “最好” 的直觉 ,且会联想到运动场上角逐激烈 ,瞬息万变 ,精彩的刹那本不易捕捉 ,但柯达则能快速、精确地把这些灿烂瞬间拍摄下来。

双关一般来说 ,人们为了清楚地表达自己 ,常常要避免歧义 ,但歧义并不都是只有负面影响 ,如果正确地利用 ,适当的控制则能使歧义产生很好的语言效果。广告商运用的多是词义双关而非句法双关。Carroll(1999∶ 123 —125)指出 ,在语句的理解过程中 ,歧义的多种意义暂时都激活 ,但歧义的主要意义和上下文会很快消除歧义性。当上下文和歧义词主要意义都指向同一方面:即都偏向同一主要意义 ,那么词汇的歧义性对语句的理解不会有何影响 ,在这种情况下似乎第二种意思都不被激活。因此 ,在歧义不会影响语句理解的前提下 ,而且其双关意义被受众解读后能留下深刻印象 ,不难看出广告商为何如此青睐双关修辞格。
1、语义双关。利用词语的多义性使语句表达的内容有两种不同的理解时就是语义双关(Homographic pun)。3)I’ m More satis fied“More” 首先被解读为一个副词修饰过去分词“satis fied”,显示此种烟的优良质量。接着 ,由于“More” 的第一个字母大写使读者很快想到此烟的品牌名 ,因此这句广告词就被理解为: “是摩尔烟使得我更满意”。这种在品牌名和词的主要意义之间的双关 ,在广告中甚为常见。4)Give a Timex to all , and to all a good time这则手表广告的关键词是 “time”。人们首先反映是 “此表能给我们提供正确的时间”,然后其延伸意义很快也反映出来: “a good time” 即表达 “此表能给予你特别的快乐”。
2、谐音双关。当利用词语之间的同音关系使词语有两种不同的理解时就是谐音双关(Homophonic Pun)。5)Seoul Food这一则南朝鲜餐馆的广告 ,Seoul 即指汉城 ,又暗指 Soul(心灵),受众一领会到此种涵义 ,广告印象也就更加深刻。6)More sun and air for your son and heir在这则旅游广告中 “sun” 和 “son” 同音 , “air ” 与“heir” 同音 ,受众一读到这广告就会有押韵的感觉 ,增加了对广告的记忆 ,再解读广告意义: “这里会给予你的儿子、继承人更多的太阳和空气”,受众对此诱惑更难以抗拒。

夸张夸张此词源自于希腊语 huperbole ,意义 excess(超过)。通俗地说 ,夸张就是言过其实。Carroll(1999∶ 148)指出 ,话语的相互影响内容(interactionalcontent)即传达说话者态度的内容 ,对话语的保留和记忆是非常重要的因素。有些语句仅仅对听者传达信息 ,而有些对听话者传达了说话者的态度。话句的相互影响内容含量高 ,那么这话语容易被记忆、保留。夸张手法的运用就是向听者传达态度的一个典型。英语中有使用数词、使用形容词或副词的最高级形式 ,使用短语和使用动词等等来进行夸张。广告英语最常使用的是形容词或副词的最高级形式和数词。7)The richest , f reshest , Irishest taste in all theworld这则酒广告连续运用了三个形容词的最高级 ,以此来体现该产品的优良品质和口味。而且这三个形容词都以Pist P 结束 ,使得该广告有很高的记忆价值。8)We’ ve hidden a garden of vegetables whereyou′ d never expect ,in a pie.这则馅饼广告的夸张体现在 “a garden of ” 一词上 ,这个数量词的用法比程度副词 “much ,a lot of ” 等等都更形象、更具体 ,更能体现 “很多蔬菜”。

仿拟李诗平(1998∶82)指出 ,parody 一词源于希腊语paroidia ,意为 “mock —song”。即故意模仿某一著名的诗歌、某一名言、警句或某一谚语 ,改动部分词语而表达一种新的思想 ,从而达到讽刺、嘲弄或幽默的目的。从语言的理解与记忆角度来看 ,因为警句、谚语已被理解熟知 ,如果改动其部分词语而使其成为广告词 ,因为人们头脑对警句、谚语有了已知的信息 ,这样的新广告词由于已知的信息而容易理解 ,且新的广告词的新增添的内容能加深已有信息 ,使得新广告词的记忆更为深刻。因此 ,我们不难看到仿拟在广告中的广泛运用。9)One man’ s disaster is another man’ s delight!The sale is now on!这一广告是仿拟谚语: “One man’ s meat is anoth2er man’ s poison”(对甲有利的未必对乙也有利)而来的。广告以 “disaster ” 和 “delight” 这两个词巧妙地替换了原谚语中的 “meat” 和 “poison”,一方面这样的广告更易被人们理解 ,同时也告知人们商店大甩卖对店主是 “灾”,但对顾客来说却是 “福”。这种模仿就使得广告有一种幽默而又俏皮之感 ,使得人们对此的记忆能更加深刻。10)When it pours , it reigns例10 为水晶酒具广告 ,是对英语谚语 “ When itrains , it pours” 的仿拟。广告撰写者把原谚语巧妙的调换了位置 ,且使用 “rain”的同音词 “reign”,即保留了谚语原来的语法结构 ,同时新增加的语义使得广告更具注意价值 ,此广告的记忆价值也同样得到提高。对警句、谚语的仿拟以上已做阐述 ,其实 ,仿词这一策略在广告中同样是被受欢迎。仿词(noncewords)是特意地在某特定场合对人们熟知的词语进行派生 ,新杜撰出来的词语不生疏 ,且具有新的语义。11)We know Eggsactly How to Sell Eggs.第11 例为鸡蛋广告。受众读到新造词 Eggsact2ly ,就能猜到其意义是 “exactly”。而且在此广告中广告产品 “egg” 被两次重复 ,加强了对产品的促销。12)Compucessories , a new word ? Yes …We’ vejust coined it to describe those Data Processing Acces2sories without which your computer can’ t function wellwith full efficiency.例 12 中的新造词 “Compucessories ” 派生于两个为人熟知的词 “computer”和 “accessories”。此新造词不仅意思很容易被解读 ,而且因为是由 “ computer”和 “accessories” 两词派生而来 ,给人留下新的印象。

排比广告商使用各种策略来使广告达到预期的效果 ,对广告的记忆充分体现广告的效果。Carroll(1999∶149)指出 ,精细复述(elaboration)是指新接收的信息和已存在长久记忆的信息相关 ,因此加深了对新信息的记忆的这一过程。越是复述得详细 ,那么对词、句、语篇的记忆将保持得越好。排比、反复修辞格是这一种策略的典型体现。排比(parallelism)是将结构相同或相似、意义并重 ,语气一致的语言成份排列在一起。13)Think Once , Think Twice , Think Bike14)Don’ t show me any other , just show meBlack sister这上面两例都为排比句在广告中的运用 ,它们语言简练 ,结构平衡匀称 ,声调铿锵有力 ,意义鲜明突出 ,给人以一气呵成之感。此外反复(repetition)修辞格的运用也体现了同样的心理语言学基础。反复不等于累赘和罗嗦 ,而是对某个词或语言成分进行重复 ,借以加强语气和感情 ,增加感染力。15)Everything is ext raordinary , Everythingtempt s.16)Dish af ter dish af ter dish , People expect us tobe bet ter.第15 例为卡地亚饰品(Cartier)广告意为 “件件超凡脱俗 ,样样都吸引诱人。”因为此品牌是为人熟知 ,因此只须强调 “ext raordinary” 就能增强感染力。在第 16 例广告中 , “dish” 重复使用三次 ,给人刻画出一幅极为生动、妙不可言的画面:一碟碟佳肴美味 ,使人如见其色 ,如嗅其香 ,感染力非同小可。
结束语随着中国加入世贸 ,与国际接轨越来越密切 ,广告英语成为了非常重要的工具。对广告英语的研究也就愈发显得重要。本文仅仅浅谈了某些修辞格的心理语言学基础 ,其实还有更多的修辞格值得从此角度去研究 ,希望能为广告界的朋友提供相关的帮助。【参考文献】

英语议论文的结构一般较为固定,通常包括以下三部分:
1.在导语部分提出需要议论的议题; 2.在正文部分对所提出的问题进行议论;
3.在结论部分对以上的讨论进行总结和归纳。
写议论文要考虑论点,考虑用什么作论据来证明,怎样来论证,然后得出结论。它可以是先提出一个总论点,然后分别进行论述,分析各个分论点,最后得出结论;或者先引述一个故事,一段对话,或描写一个场面,再一层一层地从事实中分析出道理,归纳引申出一个新的结论;也可以在文章开头先提出一个人们关心的问题,然后一一作答,逐层深入;还可以把两个不同事物以对立的方式提出来加以比较、对照,然后得出结论。
在具体写作中要注意下列几点:
1.议题的提出要开门见山,不要拖泥带水。
2.议论时可以采用不同的方法。如:可以摆出正反两方面观点,进行对比;也可引经据典论证作者自己观点的正确性,从而使读者接受自己的观点;亦可提出一种错误的观点然后论证其错误,最终提出正确的观点。正文部分是写作的重点,论证方法可用归纳法、推理法、比较法等。

1.通览全卷,迅速摸透“题情”
刚拿到试卷,一般心情比较紧张,建议拿到卷子以后看一下,看看考卷一共几页,有多少道题,了解试卷结构,通览全卷是克服“前面难题做不出,后面易题没时间做”的有效措施,也从根本上防止了“漏做题”。
2.答题顺序:从卷首依次开始
一般地讲,全卷大致是先易后难的排列,所以,正确的做法是从卷首开始依次做题,先易后难,最后攻坚。有的考生愿意从卷末难题开始做,他们认为自己前面的题没有问题,好坏成败就看卷末的难题做得怎么样,开始时头脑最清醒,先做最难的题成功率高、效果好,想以攻坚胜利保证全局的胜利。这种想法看似有理,实际是错误的。一般卷末的题比较难,除了个别水平特别高的学生,都没有做好该题的把握。很可能花了不少时间,也没有把这个题满意地做完。你这时的思绪多半已经被搅得很乱,又由于花了不少时间,别的题一点没有做,难免心里发慌,以慌乱之心做前面的题,效果也会大打折扣。但也不是坚决地“依次”做题,一份高考试卷,虽然大致是先易后难,但试卷前部特别是中间出现难题也是常见的,执着程度适当,才能绕过难题,先做好有保证的题,才能尽量多得分。
3.答题策略
先易后难、先熟后生。先做简单题、熟悉的题,再做综合题、难题。应根据自己的实际,果断跳过啃不动的题目,从易到难,可以增强信心,但也要注意认真对待每一道题,力求有效,不能走马观花,有难就退,伤害解题情绪。
先小后大。小题一般是信息量少、运算量小,易于把握,不要轻易放过,应争取在大题之前尽快解决,从而为解决大题赢得时间,创造一个宽松的心理气氛。
先局部后整体。对一个疑难问题,确实啃不动时,一个明智的解题策略是:将它划分为一个个子问题或一系列的步骤,先解决问题的一部分,即能解决到什么程度就解决到什么程度,能演算几步就写几步,每进行一步就可得到这一步的分数。
4.学会分段得分
高考阅卷评分办法是“分段评分”,或者“踩点给分”--踩上知识点就得分,踩得多就多得分。所以对于难度较大的题目采用“分段得分”的策略实为一种高招儿。对于会做的题目,要解决“会而不对,对而不全”这个老大难问题。会做的题目要特别注意表达的准确、考虑的周密、书写的规范、语言的科学,防止被“分段扣点分”。如果遇到一个很困难的问题,确实啃不动,一个聪明的解题策略是,将它们分解为一系列的步骤,或者是一个个小问题,先解决问题的一部分,能解决多少就解决多少,能演算几步就写几步,特别是那些解题层次明显的题目,或者是已经程序化了的方法,每进行一步得分点的演算都可以得分,最后结论虽然未得出,但分数却已过半,这叫“大题拿小分”,确实是个好主意。
解题过程卡在某一过渡环节上是常见的。这时,我们可以先承认中间结论,往后推,看能否得到结论。如果不能,说明这个途径不对,立即改变方向;如果能得出预期结论,就回过头来,集中力量攻克这一“卡壳处”。
由于考试时间的限制,“卡壳处”的攻克来不及了,那么可以把前面的写下来,再写出“证实某步之后,继续有„„”一直做到底,这就是跳步解答。若题目有两问,第一问想不出来,可把第一问作“已知”,“先做第二问”,这也是跳步解答。
5.答题速度:以快为上
高考数学试卷共有22个题,考试时间为两个小时,平均每题约为5.5分钟。为了给解答题的中高档题留下较充裕的时间,每道选择题、填空题应在二至三分钟之内解决。若这些题目用时太长,即使做对了也是“潜在丢分”,或“隐含失分”。一般,客观性试题与主观性试题的时间分配为4:6。
6.立足中下题目,力争高水平
平时做作业,都是按所有题目来完成的,但高考却不然,只有个别的同学能交满分卷,因为时间和个别题目的难度都不允许多数学生去做完、做对全部题目,所以在答卷中要立足中下题目。中下题目通常占全卷的80%以上,是试题的主要构成,是考生得分的主要来源。学生能拿下这些题目,实际上就是数学科打了个胜仗,有了胜利在握的心理,对攻克高档题会更放得开。
7.确保运算正确,立足一次性成功
高考是限时限量的选拔性考试,在120分钟时间内完成大小22个题,时间很紧张,不允许做大量细致的解后检验,所以要尽量准确运算(关键步骤,力求准确,宁慢勿快),立足一次成功。解题速度是建立在解题准确度基础上,更何况数学题的中间数据常常不但从“数量”上,而且从“性质”上影响着后继各步的解答。所以,在答卷时,要在以快为上的前提下,要稳扎稳打,字字有据,步步准确,尽量一次性成功,提高成功率。不能为追求速度而丢掉准确度,甚至丢掉重要的得分步骤。假如速度与准确不可兼得的说,就只好舍快求对了,因为解答不对,再快也无意义。
试题做完后要认真做好解后检查,看是否有空题,答卷是否准确,所写字母与题中图形上的是否一致,格式是否规范,尤其是要审查字母、符号是否抄错。
8.要学会“挤”分
高考试题是“题题设防,题题把关”,高考试题每一道题目都“长牙”,每一道题目都“咬人”,只有这样才达到区分的目的。另一方面高考试题是分步赋分,做对几步就会得到几分,因此考生在答题时要学会“挤”分。
挤分的主要方法有:理科把主要方程式和计算结果写在显要位置,作文尤其主要开头和结尾,文科一般都按要点给分。所以每一道题都认真思考,能做几步就做几步,高考是按步赋分,千万不能产生定势,高考试题为了达到理想的压分度,住住是难度逐步加深,对于考生来说就是能做几分是几分。这是考试中最好的策略。
因此考生在考试时,不急燥,不气馁,要学会用“挤”的办法提高自己的得分率。
9.检查的方法:顺手记下该检查的题号
检查是答卷的一个环节,检查时最忌从头到尾一题题地检查。因为在短短的时间里看许多题,自然不会很细,而轻易地更改常会把本来做过的题改错。正确的检查是只检查应该检查的题,一个题该不该检查,应当在做完这个题时给出判定,并在演草纸上记下该检查的题号。
一份考卷上该检查的题不应当多,有经验的考生知道答完题后要面对的题无外乎四种,一是解题过程顺利且很有把握,这类题就不需要检查了。二是解题过程不顺利,自己觉得在某一点上没有把握,还需再斟酌,这类题就是需要检查的题。三是感觉难做,但一时理不清头绪,无从下手,只好暂时放下的题。第四种题是完全不会,估计再花时间也没有希望做出 12 来,不如放弃此题,如果是选择题,就选一个最像是正确的答案了事。这类题就不必再做检查了。
检查时首先要注意有没有漏题。此外检查时仍需审题,因为在审题环节出问题是考生最常犯的毛病。检查时不要轻易改选择题的答案。到检查时,大脑已经连续工作很长时间了,轻易以疲惫的头脑去推翻头脑清醒时的答案,结果是把做对的题改错了。
10.检查后的涂改方式要讲究
一、要划掉重新写,忌原地用涂黑的方式改,这会使阅卷老师看不清。
二、如果对现有的题解不满意想重新写,要先写出正确的,再划去错误的。有的同学先把原来写的题解涂抹了,写新题解的时间又不够,本来可能得的分数被自己涂掉了。
三、新的答案写出后,不要忘记把原来的答案划去,如果出现对的和错的两个答案并存的情况,按规矩是不能给分的。
高中英语阅读理解的解题技巧 养成良好阅读心理
阅读理解试题是高考试题中最重要的一项内容,也是学生们最容易失分的一项。如何上好阅读理解课呢?我在平时的教学中对学生进行了如下的训练:
让学生养成良好的阅读心理。阅读时要去掉杂念,心绪要安定,精神要专一,要形成一种惬意的顺向心理。这样才能对所读的文章印象清晰,理解深刻。
帮助学生提高视读的速度。阅读理解考的是速度,慢读是不行的。因此作阅读理解时,要注意培养学生快速阅读的习惯。阅读时眼球总是不断地移动、停顿、移动着。理解是在“眼停”的瞬间进行的。我们要使眼停的时间相对增加,就要扩大视读的广度,把逐词逐句的点式阅读变成一次扫描一句的线式阅读,并且把看到的东西迅速报告给大脑,形成眼脑较快的直映能力。切不可在个别难懂的词句上磨蹭,只要全篇理解了,个别难懂的词句可以根据上下文和构词法去猜测,去推断。对个别不清楚的地方也可以再看几次。要留心关键词句,注意弦外之音。对文章的评价分析,一定要坚持“词不离句,句不离篇”,要理解文章作者的原意,而不能按自己的意愿去想当然。
培养学生阅读时的语感。所谓语感是指人们对语言中词语搭配及句型结构的熟练程度。语感好的人,理解力就强,视读的速度就快。对于那些长的文章,可以让学生先把文章后面的问题看一遍,带着问题去看文章。这样可以帮助学生去掉杂念,提高阅读速度和解题的正确性。在练习中应培养学生善于找出关键句的能力,可以边读边用铅笔做点标记,把有关的人物、事件、时间、地点、原因等划出来。读完一篇文章后,要回味一番对文章的段落结构,中心思想,人物事件,论点论据要做到心中有数。
让学生学会“自学”。这是提高英语阅读的有效措施。要充分利用选材上的优势来满足不同层次学生的兴趣。根据学科特点,为他们订一些报刊杂志,这样可以大大扩大学生的知识面,培养学生的课外阅读能力,使英语阅读策略在课堂外得到有效的实践。
