毛主席说过：“多少事，从来急，天地转，光阴迫，一万年太久，只争朝夕。” 现在就是我们两个人民只争朝夕，攀登那缔造新的美好世界的伟大高峰的时候了。

本着这种精神，请诸位同我一同举杯，为毛主席，为周总理，为人类的友谊和中美两个人民的友谊，干杯！

Dear delegates, ladies and gentlemen: Beijing has invigorating weather and gorgeous scenery in October.The 15th World Tourism Organization General Assembly Session is grandly opening today.On behalf Chinese government, I’d like to show our sincerely welcome to dear guests and also send my congratulations to the session.Tourism is a joyful activity with sightseeing, entertainment and fitness which keeps developing with the progress of time.Since the middle of the 20th century, modern tourism is rising rapidly all over the world with the growing number of tourists and extending the scale of tourism industry stably.The position of tourism economy has increased obviously.Tourism is becoming a way to exchange culture, build up friendship and extend contact which is more and more widely influential to human life and social progress.China is a huge eastern country with profound history, abundant cultures, time vitality and lots of gorgeous natural resources, beautiful scenery, 56 minorities that have different features.There have been 29 World Cultural Heritage sites and World Natural Heritage sites so far.With the advance of reform and opening policies, modernization construction grows rapidly, city and country has taken on a new look.Ancient China's glory adds radiance and charm to modern China's boom.All of these provide a favourable condition to the development of tourism of home and abroad.The first 20 years of the 21st century is an important strategic opportunities to build a moderately well-off society in an all-round way, accelerate the construction of socialist modernization, and also a golden period for the development of Chinese tourism.We will develop tourism as a major industry of Chinese national economy, protect and use tourism resources reasonably, take efforts to achieve the sustainable tourism development.Chinese government welcomes friends all over the world to visit China.We will try our best to secure the health and safety of visitors, and encourage more Chinese citizens to go abroad.We are willing to carry out extensive cooperation with other countries to promote the development the tourismof world.The World Tourism Organization has made positive and effective work to accelerate the prosperity and development of the world tourism these years.We’d like to express our sincere congratulations to the World Tourism Organization who has been a specialized agency of the United Nations recently.We believe that this session will play an important role in the prosperity and development of the world tourism.Wish the 15th World Tourism Organization General Assembly Session complete success!

4.香港：世界之城

在你看见香港和海港之上的天际线的一瞬间，你一定会心跳加速。不容置疑，这里有令人兴奋的事情，从未来主义的摩天大楼到香火弥漫的寺庙，从疯狂的购物者到摇摆的木船，中国的许多方面都在这个引人注意的太平洋边缘城市中呈现。

在没有空调制冷的殖民地时期早期，英国人发现可以通过住在太平山顶来抵消酷暑。直到今天，香港最贵的房子也建在这里。对于我们这些游客来说，从这里远眺可以欣赏到城市和港口的壮丽景象。

今晚很高兴能见到大家。感谢你们对香港不懈的支持。希望你们对两支队伍（巨人队和道奇队）的比赛满意。

最近几个月明显我们都在关注全球经济危机和怎样恢复我们的经济。今天我要说一些我们减小经济危机对香港的影响的方法。我也会强调我们正在借助这独一无二的机会来使香港更具经济竞争力的主要方面。

不过首先我要说一些关于月初在伦敦召开的G20峰会。很荣幸香港也作为中国代表团的成员参与了会议。与去年11月的华盛顿G20峰会一样，我们积极参与了伦敦会议的准备阶段工作。

Washington university’s Provost Liz wise’s speech in China Ladies and gentlemen: First of all, please allow me to thank you all for your kind invitation to attend the party and your hospitality during my visit.Six days ago, we have gathered here.The memory of that scene still fresh in my mind.Today, at the end of my visit in China, I sincerely and happily get together with you and say goodbye.This was my first trip to China as a dean, though the visit is short, but it's effective.During my visit, I Updated and signed a memorandum of understanding(MoU)on cooperation with Sichuan University, Tsinghua University and Peking University.Washington University have extensive contact with China.In addition to send nearly 200 students to study in China each year, Washington University also recruited more than 300 Chinese students studying abroad and more and more visiting scholars.In 2009, there were more than 200 researchers who represented some famous academic institutions were engaged in researches in Washington University.My visit to China actually contains personal significance.My parents have born in China, and migrated to the USA in the last 1930s.They both have gotten a degree in China.And I want to come to China to learn Chinese better, and have an intimate knowledge of our ancestor’s culture and history all the time.It's my honor to represent Washington University to further strengthen Bilateral Cooperation.I hope that more channels can be opened up of communication with Chinese academic institutions, and I will make further progress on the basis of Emmott principal and Hansen Associate Provost's visit.Finally, may Chinese people happiness!May the friendship between our two peoples can be further strengthened!Farewell, friends!P17 Passage3（英译汉）P76 Passage4（汉译英）

1、学校课程评估由谁组织实施？ 答：学校设教学评估专家委员会作为组织实施机构，该委员会是在主管校长的领导下，对教学质量进行检查、评价的专门机构。教学评估专家委员会由教学评估专家常设委员会（简称“常设委员会”）及教学评估专家组（简称“专家组”）组成。“常设委员会”全面负责学校的课程教学评估工作。现任主任是我校教学名师、数学与科学学院教授刘新国，办公室设在高教研究与评估中心。

2、评估专家是如何组聘的？ 答：“常设委员会”的成员由学校任命；“专家组”根据每学期参评课程的状况，从在岗或近期退休的教授或副教授中选聘，选聘人员由“常设委员会”提名，报主管校长批准。“常设委员会”每学期召开课程教学评估工作会议，研讨并制定课程教学评估工作计划；“专家组”按照学科组、横向组、同行组三个层面组建。

3、参加学校课程评估的申报条件是什么？

答：现阶段，每学期组织一次课程评估，分推荐评估和抽查评估两类。推荐评估，以院（系、中心）评估为基础，由教师个人自愿申报（须讲授过参评课程两次以上），院（系、中心）推荐评估为优或良的教师参加学校评估；抽查评估，由“常设委员会”在一定范围内随机抽查某门课程教师参加学校评估。确定参评教师名单后，报主管校长批准。两类评估同等要求。评估课程按照理论课、体育课、实验课、双语课和艺术技能课分类进行。评估工作程序按每学期课程教学评估工作安排表进行。

4、学校一般在什么时候组织课程评估申报？ 答：一般在每学期末（第17周），各院（系、中心）根据课程评估的通知要求，组织教师申报课程教学评估。一般采取教师个人申报和学校随机抽查两种方式。第二学期开学的第1周，校教学评估专家常设委员会根据申报原则和条件审核申报教师材料，确定参加教学评估的课程名单。

5、教师参加课程评估需要做好哪些准备工作？

答：经审核确定的参评教师需要在第4个教学周，将教学日历、教学大纲、教材交到高教研究与评估中心课程评估办公室，教学日历必须有教学负责人签字和院系公章。在第2-12周，按照中心提供的观摩课程表，参评教师自主观摩教学。在第12个教学周，提交讲稿、教学设计、教师自评表、教学观摩反馈表，学生平时作业、期中考试试卷等材料。另外，需要为现场听课的评估专家准备一至两份本堂课的教学设计，可包括教学目标、讲授内容、教学方法、教学过程和教学信息反馈与矫正活动等方面的设计。

6、课程评估指标主要包括哪些内容？

答：2010年7月，学校教学评估专家常设委员会完成了新一轮课程教学质量评估指标体系的修订工作，依据科学性、独立性、可测性、共性与个性相结合等原则，体现研究型教学特征、体现发展性评价特征的基本要求，对一级指标体系和二级指标体系进行了全面修订。一级指标体系修订为“教学思想与态度”、“教学基本要求”、“教学内容”、“教学方法与评价”四大类，其中新增了教学思想、考试考核评价等方面的内容。二级指标体系修订突出研究型教学的特征，进一步强调以研究带动教学，要求教学内容及时反映或联系学科发展的新思想、新概念和新成果；突出过程性评估的特征，首次将课下学习指导、课下学习内容安排、课程考核方式等内容纳入指标体系；体现“教有方法、教无定法”的思想，注重因材施教，灵活运用启发式、案例式、讨论式、探究式等教学方法，以及对学生创新意识与能力培养方面的评价。

7、课程评估的基本程序是怎样的？

答：一般来讲，第3周，课程教学评估专家开始听课。第4周，参评教师将教学大纲、教学日历、教材送交课程评估办公室。第2-12周，参评教师根据学校高教研究与评估中心提供的观摩课程表进行教学观摩（至少两次），填写教学观摩反馈表。第10-12周，分别召开学科组组长会议和横向组第一次会议，通报、交流前期听课情况，研究、讨论评估过程中出现的主要问题，决定后期听课的重点；向学生发放评价表并将学生意见反馈给参评教师；参评教师于第12周将教案或教学设计、讲稿、学生作业或平时测验、期中考试试卷、教师自评表、教学观摩反馈表送交课程评估办公室。第14-15周，各学科组由组长安排，在随堂听课，深入院系及学生中调研、听取意见和反复讨论的基础上，对参评课程提出评估意见；各横向组分别举行第二次会议，交流、讨论评估意见。第16周，课程评估办公室对来自评估专家、学生和教学督导三方面的教学评价信息进行汇总，并采用定量和定性相结合的办法进行数据统计和评价意见整合；参评教师撰写个人总结交课程评估办公室。

8、课程评估结果是如何产生的？

答：课程教学评估评定会按照“看、听、议、投”四步法进行，以无记名方式投票决定参评教师评估等级时，评估专家2/3以上（含2/3）参加方为有效；对每门课程的打分去掉一个最高分和一个最低分并计算出平均值，此平均值即是某一课程的最后得分；根据量化等级标准（90分以上为优秀，80-89分为良好，60-79分为合格，59分以下为不合格），产生出评估结果。其中，2014年5月，经学校教学评估专家常设委员会讨论决定，要求“评估专家打分平均值在90分以上，且至少2/3及以上评估专家打分大于或等于90分时”，方可评定为优秀等次。

教学评估专家委员会向全校公布评估结果，并将书面评估意见分别转给参评教师及有关院（系、中心）。学校对获优、良等级的教师给予奖励，同时颁发荣誉证书。

9、参加评估过程中教师可以得到哪些帮助？ 为帮助教师有效提高课程教学质量，评估专家、督导专家在每次听课后都将提供具体的反馈意见。教学支持中心每个学期都分文理科组织优质课程集体教学观摩和研讨活动，组织全校性教育教学专家报告会，组织教学方法和策略讲座、工作坊。

10、我校课程教学评估的特点是什么？

我校课程教学评估始于1986年，在学校内部质量保障中发挥了积极作用，并培养了一批批优秀教师，形成了前瞻性、学术性、独立性等特点。是过程性与终结性相结合的综合性评估，强调评估对教师发展的意义和价值，通过提供过程性评价和服务，使参与教师不断提高课程教学质量，培养高层次创新人才。

11、参加课程教学评估要特别注意的问题是什么？

我校课程教学评估倡导将以学生为中心的教学理念和方法融入课程教学，专家在评估中不仅关注每堂课的教学状况，还会进一步考察，课堂教学是否延伸到了课堂之外，是否关注到学生的学习过程，是否设计和实施了促进学生学习的方法和策略，是否有效达成促进学生学习的目的。因此，教师从报名开始时提交的个人简介表，到中期提交的学生作业等各类文本资料，都是专家关注的内容。以个人简介表为例，除了个人基本信息，内容涉及教学理念、学习目标、教与学的方法、考核方式等陈述，需要教师对所申报评估的课程及其在人才培养中的定位和目标进行深入思考和整体设计，需要思考如何通过评价促进学生学习的考核方式等。

12、参加过一次学校组织的课程教学评估后，隔多长时间可以第二次申报？ 答：凡参加过一次学校组织的课程教学评估后，至少隔一年之后，方可进行第二次申报。

13、每学期课程教学评估工作启动后，可以申请退出评估吗？

答：每学期课程评估工作启动后，原则上不允许退出评估。如确有特殊情况申请退出，需至少隔一年之后，方可进行下一次申报。
