商务英语(初级、中级)剑桥商务英语证书考试(BEC)应试水平
BEC属专门用途英语考试。目前国内规模较大的英语水平考试如大学四、六级考试,主要是对大学公共英语教学的考核。BEC考试则主要考查考生在商务方面的英语实际运用能力。BEC1为初级语言水平考试,难度相当于我国大学英语四级,就剑桥英语考试系列来说,它介于入门英语考试(Key English Test)和初级英语考试(Preliminary English Test)之间;BEC2介于我国大学英语四、六级之间,相当于剑桥第一证书英语考试(First Certificate in English);BEC3介于我国大学英语六级和英语专业八级之间,相当于剑桥熟练英语证书考试(Certificate of Proficiency in English)。以中国学生学英语的程度来参照,凡系统学习过基础英语,象《许国章英语》
1、2册或《新概念英语》
1、2册者均可达到BEC1的语言应试要求;BEC2和BEC3语言水平要求更高,报考者至少应具有中级英语水平(相当于大学四级以上的水平)或学完《许国章英语》四册或《新概念英语》四册的水平。
注:考生可以不经BEC1考试直接报考BEC2或BEC3,也可同时报考BEC1和BEC2,或同时报考BEC2和BEC3。报名不受年龄、性别、职业、地区、学历等限制,任何人(包括学生、待业人员等)均可持本人身份证到当地考点报名。在华工作的外籍人员和现役军人亦可持本人有效身份证及两张照片报名参加考试。BEC的报考时间地点、条件和收费标准

报名无开始时间,即任何时间都可以报名。有截止时间:上半年报名截止时间为三月二十日;下半年报名截止时间为九月十七日。欲了解各考点的具体报名事宜,可与各考点联系。
报名地点:
教育部考试中心已在全国50多个大中城市设立了BEC和PET商务英语考点(也即报名点),由当地的高等学校承办。各地考请注意本地区考点的信息。暂时未设置考点的地区如有考生希望参加考试,也可到邻近的考点参加考试,并可请人代理报名手续。
报名条件与考试费用
BEC共分三个等级:BEC1、BEC2、BEC3。BEC1是面向初级和中下级英语水平的商务英语考试,BEC2是面向中、高级英语水平的考试;BEC3是面向较高级英语水平的考试。考试分两个阶段进行。第一阶段为阅读(50分钟)、写作(40分钟)和听力(35分钟),第二阶段为口试(12分钟)。PET为面向广大英语初学者的基础英语证书考试。PET考试也分读、写、听、说四个部分。
报名不受年龄、性别、职业、地区、学历等限制,任何人(包括学生、待业人员等)均可持本人身份证件到当地考点报名。在华工作的外籍人员和现役军人亦可持本人有效身份证件报名参加考试。报名每次收取考试费(含口试费)BEC1:约289.40元人民币(包括按人民币汇率折算的18美元);BEC2:372.60元人民币(包括按人民币汇率折算的22美元);BEC3:约488.90元人民币(包括按汇率折算的33美元)。因人民币汇率可能变化,每次考试收费标准以考点公布的为准。
考生在报名后可得到一本内容包括考试范围、考试题型的《考生手册》,供考生参照复习。
考试成绩评写与证书发放
BEC1注重考查考生的语言交际能力,成绩以等第计,以反映考生的总体能力状况。
第一阶段(Stage 1)的阅读和写作、听力及第二阶段(Stage 2)的口语的成绩将分别以A、B、C三个等级分数报告,其中A和B为及格以上成绩,考生只有在每个部分获得B级以上成绩,才能保证总成绩合格。考生在第一阶段总成绩为A、B、C、D、U5个等级分数,其中A、B、C、D等成绩为及格以上成绩,U为不及格成绩。考生只有在第一阶段考试获得A级以上成绩才能参加第二阶段的口语考试。
口语考试成绩按1、2、3级评定,其中1、2级成绩为及格以上成绩,3级为不及格成绩。
对于第一阶段(Stage 1)考试成绩在A、B、C、D等的考生将获得剑桥大学颁发的BEC1证书。对于参加口试获得1、2级成绩的考生,成绩将在他们的证书上标明。BEC的考试形式及评分标准
测试分两个阶段
第一阶段:采取考官与考生交流的方式,时间约为4—5分钟。
考生应对考官的问题做出回答或对考官提出的要求做出反应。考官所题问题主要针对商务交往的具体内容。
第二阶段:采取考生与考生交流的方式,时间约为3—4分钟。
每组考生抽去两组卡片,每组卡片为两张,一张卡片上描述具体内容,另一张卡片由针对其内容的问题。考生可得到一张卡片上描述具体内容和另一考生卡片相关问题卡片,有足够时间阅读卡片,交流的内容局限于这两组卡片。
评分标准测试依据发音、准确性、流利程度以及交流能力四个部分判定3个等级。分数分别为3分、2分、1分。具体标准如下:
1.发音(包括声音大小、重音、语调、语气)
3分尽管有些读音错误,并且有受母语影响的迹象,但比较容易听懂且抑扬顿挫较流畅。
2分由于发音受母语影响使某些词不易听懂,由一些读音错误,受母语影响严重。
1分考生的发音很难听懂。经常出现读音错误,受母语影响明显,语调不对且断断续续,给听者造成麻烦。
2.准确性(包括语法、用词及说话方式)
3分机关由错误,但基本上能把意思表达清楚。所采用的句子结构规范,但处理复杂句子结果比较困难。对所熟习的话题语汇较充分,但表达有欠缺。
2分有的意思表达不清。所采用的句子结构多为基本句式且有语法及用词错误,对所熟习的话题有一定词汇描述能力。
1分表达令人费解,基本句子结构出现错误,缺乏用于交流的词汇。
3.流利程度(包括语速、长短句搭配)
3分听者感觉不错,但尽管有停顿,较流利,能组织语言,用较长的句子表达,但有些句子不够完整。
2分听者需要耐心,尽管有停顿但基本流利,句子比较短。
1分听者需要非常耐心。经常中断且间隔较长。
4.交流能力(包括独立性、灵活性以及对谈话方式的把握)
3分基本具有独立性。只是有时需要在其它考生的帮助或提示下表达。在与其它考生的交流中占主导地位,回答其它考生所提问题较迅速。
2分有时需要依靠别人的帮助完成表达。在交流中有不妥之处。不能很快回答其它考生所提问题。
1分需要经常依靠别人的帮助才能完成表达。掌握了一些句式但使用不当,对其它考生的提问,反应慢,甚至没有反应。BEC口试范围、形式与内容及评分标准

国家教委考试中心已在全国40多个大中城市设立了BEC考点,由当地高等学校承办。各地考生可注意本地区考点的信息。
参加BEC考试不需要任何特殊资格,任何人都可持中华人民共和国居民身份证报名;五身份证者可持护照、军人身份证等其它有效身份证件报名,也可持工作证和单位介绍信报名。
报名费(人民币):
BEC1的考试费为195元,口试35元;
BEC2的考试费为245元,口试55元。
BEC1和BEC2的考试每年举办两次,通常,笔试时间分别为5月和10月第二个或第三个星期日,上午考BEC1,下午考BEC2,口试时间在笔试后一个半月左右。笔试前两个月开始报名
BEC等级的划分标准和适用范围
BEC前两级是剑桥新设计的考试,其中BEC1是面向中下级水平的考试,BEC2是面向中高级水平的考试,BEC3(即CEIBT)是面向较高水平的考试。
这种级别分类有两种含意:一方面考虑到不同级别工作人员从事不同性质工作对语言功能的不同需求,一方面考虑到英语本身的难度。它的共同特点是针对商务及日常工作的需要而命题和测试,因此与我国较为熟悉的TOEFL等考试不同,它不能直接用于出国求学,它是为立足国内的有志青年设计,与国际标准接轨,在欧美许多国家可以作为求职工具;BEC1和BEC2目前则只能在中国和开办了该项考试的国家使用。
当然,由于剑桥大学的良好声誉,它的考试在世界各国都具有极高的地位。国家教委准备进一步和剑桥大学及国内有关部门合作,提供完善的助学手段,以考促学,使国内目前群众性的英语学习热潮不仅是为了出国,也是为了在改革开放的中国建功立业。同时,也有助于创造良好的语言环境,便于愈来愈多的“三资企业”、外向型企业和其他涉外部门参加国际经济合作与竞争。在剑桥大学考试委员会举办的考试系列中,有许多考试被英国及欧洲许多大学录取学生时承认,今后我国也将陆续开办这些考试,为中国青年出国求学提供方便。
值得指出的是,英国剑桥大学考试委员会(UCLES)与在全世界开考TOEFL、GRE等考试的美国教育测验服务外,特别是欧洲,均得到广泛的认可。但UCLES在考试指导理论及方法上又有所不同。因此,引进BEC考试,不仅有利于纠正英语单纯为了出国的倾向,更对于我们借鉴、吸收外国先进经验,为我国社会主义现代化服务,同时对促进我国考试科学化、现代化的发展具有一定的积极意义。BEC考试2002年将有大变化
记者近日从教育部考试中心获悉,从2002年起,BEC商务英语证书考试将有很大变化。
具体变化是:首先,各个级别的考试名称将由现在的BEC1、BEC2、BEC3更名为BEC初级、BEC中级、BEC高级;口试成绩不再单独占总分的25%;BEC初级(即现在的BEC1)不再分A、B、C、D四个等第,改为Pass with merit(优秀)和Pass(通过)两等,BEC2、BEC3保持目前的A、B、C三个等第;根据考试级别的不同,阅读和写作部分的时间将增加15分钟至30分钟不等。
