读《文体翻译论》及学习汉译英有感
记得最开始接触翻译时很是抵触，觉得翻译这个东西没有什么好学的，认为只要单词认识意思搞懂不就行了。但是经过长期的英译汉课程学习，我认识到了自己的错误和自身巨大的不足。翻译，远远不是表面上的那么简单。
在两种语言中，同样的一个意思可能有着千差万别的含义。同样的一个句子，在翻译者的思维里就有着不同的理解。文化上的差异，语境语意上的差别对翻译的结果都有着重要的影响。这就不是简简单单的把字面意思看懂，然后生硬的翻译出来那么容易了。首先，要想翻译得好，我必须有着扎实的母语基础。因为我觉得只有一个良好的母语功底作基础，才能有可能把握翻译的精准度，毕竟我是中国人，我学习外语的目的就是学习国外的先进知识理念，然后转化为自己的东西。如果没有良好的母语基础，我就不可能将其转化为精准、易懂的翻译成果。同样，不清楚自己母语所表达的意思，同样会造成沟通中的模棱两可。其次，就是在翻译中要时刻按照“信”、“达”、“雅”的标准来要求自己。信，即忠实原文；达，即通顺流畅；雅，即优雅美好。在平常的作业中，经常会出现这三种原则性的错误。有时候自己花一个下午翻译完一篇文章后，读起来了无兴趣，不知所云，甚至有些地方连自己都读不通顺。有些地方理解不到位，有些地方句子成分搭配得有问题，有些地方偏离了原文要表达的意思，有的翻译出来又跟原文的意境相差甚远。这些林林总总的错误给了我当头棒喝，这才埋下头来开始认认真真的学习翻译的技巧。
然后，我在图书馆中找到了《文体翻译论》。这本书把英文和中文的各种文体进行了分类，详细地阐述了各种文体翻译中的问题、类型和翻译的技巧。其中的许多例子引起了我浓厚的兴趣。比如其中关于标题翻译的讲述中，就将篇章标题翻译分为了词组型、动宾型、句子型。书名翻译中就分为直译和音译，比如《傲慢与偏见》（Pride and Prejudice），《圣战》（Holy War），《爱玛》（Emma）等等。还有关于电影名的翻译。记得曾经看过的一些电影，发现其中文翻译跟英文原名差别很大，翻译出来的名字很有意境，也与电影的剧情很符合。在佩服的同时，也很是怀疑这样翻译到底是不是对的。如果可以这么随意的进行翻译，那翻译出来的结果岂不是千差万别，没有一个标准？看了书中的解释，我了解到电影这种艺术形式非常容易被各种文化层次的观众所接受。观看本国电影时，各种文化层次的电影观众对电影中所涵盖的本国文化非常容易理解，而对异国文化的理解就有相当的难度。电影名称也隐含着本国的文化，本国观众容易接受，而在翻译给异国观众时，必须采用异国各个文化层次的观众都能接受的形式。因此，在翻译电影片名的时候，必须根据具体情况，采用直译、音译、意译（包括增词、改名）等多种方式进行翻译。比如我非常喜欢的Forrest Gump就翻译为《阿甘正传》，Patton则译为《巴顿将军》。Toy Story就翻译成了《玩具总动员》这些意译的名字都是在影片的内容基础上进行的增词，然后造就了一个信息表达清晰的名字。这些名字都很好的将原片名中的隐藏的信息补齐，给观众有一个好的引导。还有按情节翻译，按情感翻译和按人物翻译。其中很多的电影我都看过，现在看这些翻译出来的名称，我无不为其翻译出来的意境和充满意味的文字魅力所深深的折服。
另外在英语诗歌汉译方面，我发觉想要翻译好一首诗对于一个翻译者来说是一个巨大的挑战。首先对于古英语的熟悉程度要高，其次对于历史背景要熟悉，然后对作者的生平和一贯的思想主张要了解，然后对宗教背景还要熟悉，还要精
通英文诗歌的各种结构、词汇、行数、韵律。当然，最重要的还是忠实于原诗中的意义和诗情——这就是翻译者的文化修养水平的体现了。丰华瞻说过，译诗应“忠实原诗的意义和诗情，而不是刻板地忠实于原诗的语法结构、词汇、行数、韵律等”。可见，重神似并不是完全的抛开原诗的形式，而是以灵活的方式忠实于原诗的音、形、意美。英文诗歌翻译应在恰如其分地传达原诗神韵的同时，尽可能地忠实于原诗的形式。译诗不一定非意译不可，要灵活，应该是适于直译的就直译，适于意译的就意译，灵活结合运用直译和意译。比如罗伯特-彭斯的A Red, Red Rose 中，最后一节的翻译And fare thee weel, my only luve/And fare thee weel a while/And I will come again, my luve/ Tho’it were ten thousands mile!如果是我的话，我会翻译为：“再见了，我的爱人/这是暂时的分别/但是我将会再见你，我的爱人/即使相隔十万八千里也不能将我们分离！”但是在看了以下的翻译后我觉得自己的翻译与之相差甚远。“再见吧，我唯一的爱人，我和你小别片刻，我要回来的，亲爱的，即使是万里相隔。”——袁可嘉译。在了解中我得知，彭斯是苏格兰农民诗人，自幼受民歌熏陶，因此他的诗歌富有乡土气息和民歌风味，语言通俗，音乐性强，读起来流畅自然，琅琅上口。文中“我唯一的爱人”和“亲爱的”将诗人深沉的情感和依依不舍的心情展示了出来。而“小别”和“相隔”的翻译则是既简洁又蕴含意境。相较而下，我的翻译结果就很是啰嗦，表达出来的感情也很生硬。它完全保留了原始的意义和意境，也基本保留了原始相当的形式，每节同为四行，句子长短也较匀称，节奏自然押韵，其中用了e 韵，也和原诗的风韵相似。
通过对这本书的阅读和这学期的英译汉的课程学习，不仅仅让我认识到了翻译的博大精深、丰富多彩，更让我学到了很多的翻译技巧，对“信”、“达”、“雅”有了更近一步的了解。而各种格样的翻译实例让我大开眼界的同时也对翻译产生了越来越浓厚的兴趣。
